District Attorney Lynn Hammond was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey in
September of 2023 to be the Seventh Judicial Circuit’s District Attorney, including
the jurisdictions of Calhoun and Cleburne counties. Lynn Hammond grew up in
Oxford, Alabama graduating from Oxford High School, received her bachelor’s
degree in History, with a double minor in Religion and Political Science from
Auburn University. She graduated from Jones School of Law at Faulkner
University graduating in December 1992 took the Alabama Bar Exam in February
of 1993 receiving her License in April 1993.

After practicing in the private sector Lynn was hired by the late Honorable Joe
Hubbard in 1994. Lynn has been in the District Attorney’s Office as a diligent
prosecutor for over thirty (30) years. She served as the Chief Assistant District
Attorney for twelve (12) years has tried over 120 jury trials ranging from
misdemeanor DUI appeals to Capital Murder. As the District Attorney she
continues to participate in jury trials.
